Gulberg Emporium Mall

China is building the coastal highway which is part of silk road. The silk road is going to be spread all over the Pakistan. China has built the Gwadar airport by investing 240 million dollars. The CPEC program also includes the energy sector development, China has developed many electricity plants in Pakistan to overcome the energy crisis. This initiative has helped to increase the development of various projects. Cpec has created jobs opportunity for the people of Pakistan specially for people of Balochistan. The project of CPEC requires skilled labor which is causing problems for locals because the do not have enough skills but China has been providing training session to the people of Balochistan.

Many other countries including Iran, turkey and Saudi Arabia are also participating in different investment categories. Saudi Arabia has signed mou’s of 20 million dollars with Pakistan to widen the capacity of CPEC by taking the leadership of china in confidence. The Saudi Arabia leadership will install an oil refinery in Pakistan to cater the market of south east Asia. Cpec was started in 2013 and it is a 15 year plan, which are expected to be completed in the year 2028. Due to foreign direct investment the economy of Pakistan will improve.

Tourism boom in Pakistan

As we all know that tourism in Pakistan is growing every year and in the past few years it is a globally recognized fact that the revenue generated from the tourism industry is very high as compared to other industries in Pakistan. According to statistics, around 1.75 million tourists visited Pakistan in 2018 and around $20 billion has been generated from the tourism industry in the last year. During Imran khan’s tenure security in the northern areas has also improved. Due to this improved security, the ratio of foreign tourist has improved by 300%. Hotel bookings have also increased by 80%. However, the main problem is that these hotels have not been properly maintained and only because of this reason the construction of new hotels have started in the northern areas of Pakistan. These hotels are under the supervision of the government and the purpose of constructing these hotels is to provide best services to the foreign and local tourist at a reasonable price. The roads in the northern areas are also damaged and not properly maintained and it causes difficulties for the tourist to reach to their destination. The positive thing which can be concluded from this is that the government has shifted their focus towards these pity issues. 

In the last tenure of the PTI government in KPK, they have built roads that lead to Nathiagali & onwards. As a result of this, tourism in these far-flung areas of the country is starting to grow. People who use to go till Murree only have now shifted their focus to Nathiagali as now due to the good road network it is easily approachable. Moreover, due to this increase in tourism the locals have benefited greatly as well. Thus having a positive impact on their lifestyle and so improving their standard of living as well. Hence, we can see how tourism helps improve things in many different ways. Apart from this improvements have been made on the infrastructure as well. Many new hotels have been made both  at government as well as private level.E.g of the retreats from Nathiagali can be seen very well. Furthermore many people are privately building hotels in Naran as well. As a result of this we can see that in the near future more people would be coming to these areas as they would be getting better places to stay. Further a positive word of mouth will also be generate. Due to all this, these areas would be able to attract tourist from not only Pakistan but from other countries as well.Thus having a great positive impact on the economy of Pakistan as well.

Encroachment

There is wave going in Pakistan against the encroachment and people supporting it. The government of Pakistan is motivated towards the acquisition of the possessed area which is the ownership of Government of Pakistan by the encroachment mafia. The vision of the government is to auction the land to get money which will help it to run it’s operations or to create facilities like parks, hospitals, educational institutions or something which would help the general public of that area. Although it is a very good initiative by the government but it is also effecting the businesses and employment of many people working for that business. When the government executed the action against the marquees, the owners had to face losses which were in billions of rupees and the customers were also facing issues because of their dates cancellation in the affected marquee and a hype in the prices which were being charged by the other marquees. It was just an example, many other business were also badly effected by such actions. The should also take actions against the government employees which have not stopped people when they were performing illegal encroachments because they had taken bribes from them. Such employees should also be punished and such policies must be made and implemented by which people would prefer doing business through legal procedures.
